Nos últimos anos, notamos uma grande ascensão da das drag queens na mídia e especialmente nas redes sociais. As drag queens ainda são enigmáticas para a grande maioria das pessoas, dificultando sua interpretação. Diante disso, o problema que levantamos é: como a categoria drag queen é construída em audiovisuais veiculados pelo Canal Tempero Drag quando abordam as relações de gênero? O objetivo geral foi investigar de que forma a drag Rita von Hunty, apresentadora do canal, contribui para alimentar o debate sobre as relações de gênero e sexualidade. Os objetivos específicos foram: discutir o conceito de gênero e sexualidade, entender a categoria drag queen e o surgimento de Rita von Hunty, sua construção e comunicação; conhecer o contexto sócio-histórico da formação da cultura drag; e, analisar os audiovisuais do Canal Tempero Drag. O referencial teórico foi baseado nos estudos de gênero e sexualidade de Judith Butler (2018, 2019) e Guacira Lopes Louro (2018). Como metodologia de análise, nos apoiamos nos referenciais teóricos e no método de Análise da Materialidade Audiovisual de Coutinho (2016). Como resultados observamos que a drag queen tensiona gênero nos diferentes contextos: sociais, culturais, políticos e históricos. Utiliza a arte drag para desafiar o binarismo, no humor encontra sua arma política, e com seus audiovisuais provoca reflexões nos expectadores. Os conteúdos seguem referências respeitadas, a produção e edição do material, completam a atratividade para a audiência do canal.This dissertation is part of the research line media and sociocultural practices and has as its theme the study of communication and gender relations from the drag queen category. In recent years, we have noticed a great rise of drag queens in the media and especially on social media. Drag queens are still enigmatic to the vast majority of people, making it difficult to interpret. In view of this, the problem we raise is: how is the drag queen category constructed in audiovisuals broadcast by Canal Tempero Drag when they address gender relations? The general objective was to investigate how drag Rita von Hunty, presenter of the channel, contributes to feed the debate on gender and sexuality relations. The specific objectives were: to discuss the concept of gender and sexuality, to understand the drag queen category and the emergence of Rita von Hunty, its construction and communication; to know the socio-historical context of the formation of drag culture; and, to analyze the audiovisuals of Canal Tempero Drag. The theoretical framework was based on the studies of gender and sexuality by Judith Butler (2018, 2019) and Guacira Lopes Louro (2018). As an analysis methodology, we rely on the theoretical frameworks and on the method of Analysis of Audiovisual Materiality by Coutinho (2016). As a result, we observed that the drag queen tensions gender in different contexts: social, cultural, political and historical. He uses the art of drag to challenge binarism, in humor he finds his political weapon, and with his audiovisuals he provokes reflections in the spectators.
