Fundada em 1976 por Alexandre Beldi Netto, empresário sorocabano do setor de telecomunicações, a FACENS, mantida pela Associação Cultural de Renovação Tecnológica Sorocabana, uma sociedade civil sem fins lucrativos, foi constituída segundo os efeitos da Reforma Universitária de 68 que mudou totalmente o perfil das instituições de ensino superior no Brasil. Idealizada justamente num período de impactantes transformações sociais, o Regime Militar, a FACENS foi estruturada física e pedagogicamente segundo as orientações da Lei nº 5.540 e dos parâmetros estabelecidos pela “A Nova Concepção do Ensino de Engenharia no Brasil”, 1977, a coletânea de documentos publicada pelo MEC, concebida por Comissões de Especialistas do Ensino de Engenharia, pelo DAU – Departamento de Assuntos Universitários e pelo Conselho Federal de Educação. Essa coletânea continha ampla e profunda revisão feita nos currículos dos cursos de Engenharia que vigoravam no país desde a publicação do Parecer nº 280/62, de 19/10/1962, que pela primeira vez estabeleceu os currículos das diversas áreas de especialização em Engenharia. Essa revisão deu origem à Resolução nº 48/76. Além disso, a FACENS também observou as recomendações e critérios específicos para os cursos de Engenharia divulgados em “Curso de Engenharia – Autorização, Reconhecimento e Funcionamento”, outra coletânea do MEC/DAU publicada em agosto de 1977, para servir de subsídio na reestruturação dos currículos plenos, e composição dos novos, e aprimoramento da qualidade do ensino. Esta pesquisa faz um levantamento histórico-educativo da trajetória da FACENS enfatizando sua origem e fundação, considerando, segundo Dario Ragazzini (1999): a) o estudo da educação numa conotação pluridisciplinar dos fenômenos, a reflexão multiforme em torno do objeto, dos fatos e processos formativos estudados por meio das diversas variáveis que intervieram na origem e fundação da FACENS b) o tempo – no âmbito da reflexão do fato (a fundação da FACENS) que se constituiu em relação às mudanças educativas, formativas e cognitivas ocorridas. 6 Um tempo que não é abstrato, mas repleto de experiências e relações colocado num espaço concreto. Um tempo de vida operativo e relacional. A maior parte das fontes primárias consultadas pertencem aos arquivos da FACENS.This work deals with the origin and foundation of FACENS – the first Engineering College of Sorocaba. Established in 1976 by Alexandre Beldi Netto, an entrepreneur of the telecommunications sector, FACENS, supported by Associação Cultural de Renovação Tecnológica Sorocabana, a non-profit civil organization, was delineated according to the effects of the “Reforma Universitária” (Universitary Reformation) of 1968 that totally changed the profile of the institutions of superior education in Brazil. Idealized exactly in a period of huge social transformations, the Military Regimen, FACENS was structuralized physically and pedagogically according to the rules of the Law n. 5.540 and the parameters established by “A Nova Concepção do Ensino de Engenharia no Brasil” (The New Conception fo Engineering Education in Brazil), 1977, a collectanea of documents published by the MEC (Culture and Education Ministry), conceived by the Commissions of Engineering Education Specialists, for the DAU – Department of University Subjects and for the Federal Council of Education. This collectanea comprises ample and deep revision made in the Engineering courses curricula that invigorated in the country since the publication of Parecer n. 280/62, of 19/10/1962, that for the first time established the curricula for the various areas of specialization in Engineering. This revision resulted in the “Resolução 48/76”. Besides that, FACENS has also observed the recommendation and specific criteria for the Engineering courses, made public in “Curso de Engenharia – Autorização, Reconhecimento e Funcionamento”, another collectanea published by MEC/DAU in August,1977 to serve as subsidy in the re-structuration of the plain curricula, and composition of the new ones and refinement of education´s quality. This research makes a survey of the historical and educative path followed by FACENS, with emphasis in its origin and foundation, considering, according to Dario Ragazzini (1999): a) the study of Education in a multidisciplinary connotation of the phenomena, the of multiple forms considerations around the object, the facts and the formative processes studied by means of the several variables that have intervened in the origin and foundation of FACENS. 8 b) the time – in the scope of the considerations about the fact (the foundation of FACENS) that has been established in relation to the educative, formative and cognitive changes occurred. A time that is not abstract, but full of experiences and relationships placed in a concrete space. A time of operative and relational life.
