Nesse caso, a visibilidade feminina e a sua busca de mobilidade nos espaços de poder dentro da história, perpassou pelo crivo da educação, bem como pelo processo de civilização e emancipação, que outrora fazia da condição feminina uma situação de dominação e submissão masculina, que analiticamente nas visões bíblicas e históricas são reforçadas pela ideologia da fragilidade feminina. O recorte temporal da pesquisa compreendeu fins do século XIX e início do século XX (1859 até 1963), mediante uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a educação feminina, a história das mulheres e o papel da Igreja Católica justificando alguns fragmentos que continham uma educação moral e rígida. E, ao mesmo tempo a Igreja Católica que por vocação natural de ensinar, abriu campos e espaços para que a educação feminina confessional tivesse o seu devido lugar, não substituindo a educação laica do cenário político tradicional e conservador, que à época mantinha poucos interesses em emancipação feminina, atrelando a condição feminina submissa ao domínio masculino. Contudo, no final do século XIX, aconteceu a crise modernista (valores, princípios morais, éticos e políticos), e reforçou o ideal da educação feminina em colégios religiosos, pois fazia parte das estratégias ultramontanas em querer recristianizar toda a sociedade, na formação de mães e esposas aptas para o desenvolvimento da nação brasileira, como exemplificou o Colégio Santa Escolástica de Sorocaba, com sua proposta pedagógica e formação cultural, que desde 1906 corrobora com a história da educação em Sorocaba.Women Plural: female education in the light of the educational mission of the Catholic Church is a thesis built on the search History and historiography line: policies and school practices, passing the thread History of Women, as an analysis result of traditional discourse that reinforced the Women submission figure in religious education scenario of Ultramontane Catholicism. In this case, women's visibility and their quest for mobility in positions of power within the story, ran through the sieve of education as well as the process of civilization and emancipation, which once was the female condition a situation of domination and male submission, which analytically in biblical and historical views are reinforced by the ideology of feminine fragility. The time frame of the research included the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century (1859 to 1963), through a literature review on women's education, women's history and the role of the Catholic Church justifying some fragments containing a moral education and rigid. At the same time the Catholic Church by natural vocation of teaching, opened fields and spaces for the confessional female education had its proper place, not replacing the secular education of the traditional and conservative political scene, which at the time held little interest in women's emancipation, tying the female condition submissive to male dominance. However, in the late nineteenth century, there was the modernist crisis (values, moral principles, ethical and political), and reinforced the ideal of female education in religious schools, as part of ultramontanas strategies in wanting re-christianize whole society, in training mothers and wives suitable for the development of the Brazilian nation, as exemplified St. Scholastica College of Sorocaba, with its pedagogical proposal and cultural training, which since 1906 corroborates the history of education in Sorocaba.Educação femininaMulheres - Condições sociaisEnsino religiosoEducação - História - Sorocaba (SP)Tese
