Não se preocupou com a apresentação de hipóteses formuladas a priori, prevalecendo a idéia de problematização e entendendo por método o diálogo entre teoria e evidências. Foram utilizadas fontes escritas (livros de atas, ofícios, legislação, requerimentos, livros de visitas, prontuários, regimentos, trabalho escolar, estatísticas oriundas de recenseamentos), orais (depoimentos de pessoas envolvidas em diferentes momentos e posições: professores, funcionários, administradores, alunos e habitantes da cidade de Pilar do Sul) e iconográficas (fotográficas e cartazes). As fontes foram analisadas pensando em suas práticas como produto social rompendo com a idéia de prova isolada. Conclui-se que a gênese do ensino secundário estadual em Pilar do Sul foi norteada por interesses eleitoreiros, tendo os vereadores locais e os deputados estaduais como principais mediadores. Os tramites legais para a criação do Ginásio Estadual de Pilar do Sul seguiram diretrizes estabelecidas pela política estadual do período. O Ginásio não foi, portanto, uma reivindicação das classes populares, mas uma aspiração e realização da classe dominante local. Este trabalho vincula-se à linha de pesquisa – Instituição Escolar: história, políticas e práticas.This work to discourse on the genesis of the state secondary teaching in Pilar do Sul between 1957 and 1971, tends as bottom subject the factors that determined that genesis. He didn't worry about the presentation of hypotheses formulated a priori, prevailing the problematização idea and understanding for method the dialogue between theory and evidences. Written sources were used (minute books, occupations, legislation, solicitations, books of visits, handbooks, regiments, school work, statistics originating from of census), orals (people's depositions involved in different moments and positions: teachers, employees, administrator, students and inhabitants of the city of Pilar do Sul) and iconográficas (photographic and posters). The sources were analyse thinking about your practices as social product, breaking up with the idea of isolated proof. It is ended that the genesis of the state secondary teaching of Pilar do Sul was orientated by interests electorals , tends the local aldermen and the state deputies as main mediators. To the creation of state gym of Pilar do Sul, established guidelines for the state politics of the period were followed. The Gym was not, therefore, a vindicade of the popular classes but an aspiration and accomplishment of the local dominant class.
