Para melhor compreender esta relação entre ensino da música e a educação básica, foi realizado um histórico sobre a trajetória desta área do saber nas escolas públicas brasileiras, mediante uma análise bibliográfica à luz de diversos autores, tais como Amato, Fonterrada, Fuks, Goldemberg, Jardim e Lisboa que pesquisam sobre a história do ensino da música nas escolas públicas brasileiras. O panorama histórico contribui para a compreensão das tendências e concepções do ensino da música ao longo da história, tendo em vista as transformações políticas e sociais ocorridas em diversas épocas. Também foi descrito a atual situação do ensino da música nas escolas públicas brasileiras, dialogando com Andraus, Bellochio, Del Bem, Figueiredo, Fonterrada, Penna. Tais autores vêm desenvolvendo questões atuais sobre as diversas tendências e concepções a respeito do ensino da música inserido na educação básica. Foi necessário analisar os documentos legais, tais como LDB, mais especificamente a Lei 11.769, que trata da obrigatoriedade da linguagem artística-música no ensino básico, e também do PCN/Arte, na seção sobre a linguagem artística-música. O ensino da música ficou praticamente ausente por mais de 30 anos das escolas públicas e recentemente está sendo inserido como conteúdo obrigatório na disciplina Arte. Desta forma, este trabalho busca compreender como vem se configurando esta área do saber, primeiro através da sua história e posteriormente por meio dos documentos legais, além de uma revisão bibliográfica de autores que pesquisam sobre a atual situação da música inserida no ensino básico.The present research has the objective to reflect about teaching of music during the basic school phase, showing the new position on education created from the approved law under number 11.769/08, of 18-08-2008, that deals about music introduction as an obligation of artistic-musical in the basic school phase. For better understanding, this relation between teaching of music and basic school phase, there will be done a historical study about teaching of music trajectory in the Brazilian public schools. This chapter will be conducted by a bibliographic analysis based on several songwriters and authors, such as Amato , Fonterrada, Fuks, Goldemberg, e Jardim, Lisboa, that are researching about teaching of music history in the Brazilian public schools. The historic Outlook contributes for a better understanding of music education trends and conceptions through the history, with politic and social changes occurring on different times. On the following, there is a description about a current teaching of music condition on the public Brazilian schools, through the authors as Andraus, Bellochio, Del Ben, Figueiredo, Fonterrada, Penna. Such authors have been developing current situation on several trends and conceptions, talking about teaching of music introduced during the basic school phase. It will also be necessary an analysis about legal documentation, such as LDB, being more specifically on law number 11.769, that manages language artistic-music obligation in the basic school, also handles PCN/Art in the section about language artistic-music. The teaching of music had been absent for more than 30 years in the public schools. Lately it has been introduced as mandatory content in Art study.
