Metodologicamente essa pesquisa apoia-se na leitura de Zygmunt Bauman e primordialmente em seu conceito de modernidade líquida. O trabalho está dividido em quatro capítulos, sendo que no primeiro é examinado o conceito de modernidade líquida de Bauman e suas consequências para diversas esferas da vida humana, abrangendo a sociedade, a política e a economia. No segundo, é discutida a incerteza que é postulada no conhecimento a a partir da teoria de Einstein. No terceiro capítulo são resgatados alguns dos conceitos do mundo líquido que possuem uma relação direta com o processo de aprendizagem e com a educação. E, finalmente, no quarto, são analisadas dentro de uma perspectiva estática as grades curriculares de cursos de engenharia de uma universidade pública e também, é examinada a coerência da proposta dada pela instituição à formação desse futuro engenheiro entrelaçando com as questões levantadas a partir da modernidade líquida.The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the education of undergraduate students in the major of engineering from the complexity that began to emerge from the second half of the 20th century in order to exhibit and to identify some of the most important characteristics of this time. We also intend to take into consideration some central aspects of the human formation and of the scientific and technological development. This research is methodologically based on the writings of Zygmunt Bauman and primarily on his concept of liquid modernity. The dissertation has been divided into four chapters. The first one examines the concept of liquid modernity of this author and its consequences for the several areas of the human life, which comprise the society, the politics and the economy. The second chapter discusses the uncertainty that is postulated in relation to the knowledge from the theory of Einstein. The third one analyzes some of the concepts of the liquid world that are directly related to the process of learning and education. Finally, the fourth chapter scrutinizes the curriculum of some of the engineering courses from a public university. This analysis has been based on a static one and it examines the coherence of the proposal endorsed by the institution for the human formation and the academic achievement of the future engineers taking into account the issues that were arisen from the liquid modernity.Engenheiros - Formação profissionalEngenharia - Estudo e ensinoDissertação
