Barreira, Luiz CarlosPinto, Assislene da MotaPinto, Assislene da Mota2023-05-092023-05-092005https://repositorio.uniso.br/handle/uniso/298Este trabalho trata da história da Escola Normal da Província do Amazonas no decorrer do período imperial, compreendido entre o final do século XIX e o início do XX, quando a cidade de Manaus vivia um momento de grande euforia, com forte representação nas esferas local e nacional, conseqüência do que se convencionou chamar na história do Amazonas de “ciclo da borracha”, que trouxe benefícios para Manaus como a ampliação do número de escolas públicas, entre elas a Escola Normal da Província do Amazonas. A presente pesquisa buscou conhecer as práticas escolares que eram desenvolvidas na Província do Amazonas, especificamente as voltadas para a Escola Normal, que a transformaram num centro irradiador de uma nova sociedade, mas que nem sempre se revelaram avançadas, por encontrar-se impregnada de uma cultural patriarcal que permeou a Província e sustentou uma instrução tradicional privilegiando uma elite. A Escola Normal foi um instrumento político e social para suprir tal estrutura, qualificando uma classe, destinada a ocupar as funções públicas e liberais que se expandiam nas últimas décadas do Amazonas provincial. Esse estudo entrou em contato, inicialmente com a geração anterior à criação da Escola Normal, investigando as práticas escolares que viriam substantivar sua criação, implantação e transformação em Instituto Normal Superior. Analisei, também, a organização do ensino na Província do Amazonas, verificando a influência que essa instituição detinha na sociedade amazonense da época, no momento em que, o desenvolvimento vertiginoso, conseqüência do ciclo da borracha, apontava para um movimento ascendente de novos comportamentos. Procurei registrar informações preservando a história e memória da Escola Normal da Província do Amazonas, indicando seus primeiros diretores, professores, alunos e fatos que fizeram parte desse fazer normalista, ou seja, do Mestre que faz Mestres.This work treats to history of the Normal School of the Province of Amazon, during imperial period among the end of the XIX th century and beginning of the XXth century when Manaus city lived a moment of great euphoria, with strong representation in local and national areas, as consequence from that stipulated cale into Amazo’s history “Cycle of the eraser” , wich brought benefits to Manaus, like an enlargement of number of public schools, among it Normal School of the Province Amazon. The present research found know practices school that were developed in the Province of Amazon, specially those to Normal School, that transformed it in irradiative center of a new society, but that not always were revealed, for finding impregnated of a patriarchal culture that it permeated the Province and it sustained a traditional instruction privileging an elite. The Normal School was a political and social instrument to supply that structure, qualifying a class destined to occupy the public and liberal functions that expanded in the finish decade of provincial Amazon. In that sense, this study entered in contact, initially with the previous generation to the creation of the Normal School, investigating the school practices that it creation, implantation and transformation would come to make firm in Superior Normal Institute. I analyzed in that period also, the organization of the teaching in the Province of Amazon, verifying it influences that this institution had in the amazonense society of that epoch, when the dizzy development, consequence of the cycle of the eraser, appeared to an ascending movement of new behaviors. I tried to register information preserving the history and memory of the Normal School of the Province of Amazon, indicating their first ones directors, teachers, students and facts that were part of that to do elementary school teacher, in other words, of the Master that makes Masters.Educação - História - Amazonas (Estado)Dissertação
