O enfoque está nos precedentes e as motivações por detrás da primeira, de muitas, conquistas mongóis. O trabalho foi feito a partir de uma bibliografia focada na personalidade de Gêngis Khan, Temujin, o fundador do Império Mongol, documentos que elucidam as relações diplomáticas entre os Estados chineses e a Mongólia no começo do primeiro milênio. Ademais, fez-se necessário uma bibliografia básica sobre a própria composição do Império Mongol e as tribos que o formaram, para compreender o cenário analisado. Visto que há pouco conhecimento geral sobre o chamado Extremo Oriente, as referências bibliográficas tiveram de ir além do tema em específico. Discorreu-se, então uma contribuição para as pesquisas acerca das primeiras conquistas mongólicas, contrapondo os dois mundos diferentes que estiveram em guerra durante décadas.This paper aims to analyze the Mongol invasion in North China, beginning in the first decade of the twelfth century. The focus is on the precedents and motivations behind the first of many Mongol conquests. The research was done from a bibliography focusing on the personality of Genghis Khan, Temujin, the founder of the Mongol Empire, documents and previous research about the diplomatic relations between the Chinese states and Mongolia at the beginning of the first millennium. Moreover, a basic bibliography about the very composition of the Mongol Empire and the tribes that formed it was necessary to understand the scenario analyzed. Since there is little general knowledge about the so-called Far East, the bibliographical references had to go beyond the specific theme.
