| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho, vinculado à Linha de Pesquisa “História e Historiografia: Políticas e Práticas Escolares”, do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade de Sorocaba, aborda as relações entre Educação Escolar e Movimentos Sociais e foca o movimento organizado por moradores do Conjunto Habitacional “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” na década de 1990, em torno da reconstrução da quadra esportiva da Escola Estadual “Antônio Vieira Campos”. O campo investigativo deste tema circunscreve-se ao contexto de crescimento das políticas neoliberais, cujo ideário se estabelece por volta de 1990, norteando o processo de normalização e regulação das políticas públicas do Brasil e, por extensão, das diretrizes pertinentes à educação escolar. O problema pesquisado nesta dissertação visa investigar se o movimento social conduzido por pais, alunos, professores, funcionários e sindicalistas, a partir do ano de 1995, em prol das reformas do prédio escolar, da Escola Estadual “Antônio Vieira Campos” teria relação com a defesa da escola pública, universal e gratuita. Objetiva-se discernir as relações entre movimento social e escola pública resgatando a trajetória histórica da referida unidade escolar. Tratase de apreender a historicidade de um contexto “micro” e local em suas múltiplas mediações por meio: (1) da análise do campo teórico que examina os movimentos sociais e sua categorização; (2) do desenvolvimento econômico do município de Sorocaba na década de 90 do século passado com ênfase na criação do espaço urbano que contextualiza esta pesquisa; (3) da imprensa concebida como fonte documental de pesquisa historiográfica e (4) da entrevista de moradores e participantes do movimento organizado na perspectiva de construção da escola Estadual “Antônio Vieira Campos”, até chegar à queda da quadra esportiva. Constatou-se que os esforços e a organização daqueles que usufruíam da escola localizada no Conjunto Habitacional foram fundamentais para a materialização de um espaço adequado à prática da educação escolar. | dc.description.abstract | This work belongs to the history and historiography area: Politics and Practices: it is about the relation between School Education and social Movement and is about the movement organized by the residents of the Housing Development Julio de Mesquita Filho in the 90 decade, about the reconstruction of the Sport Court of the Public School Antonio Vieira Campos. The investigative area of this theme leads to the context of the growing process of the neoliberal politics, which idea sets up around 1990, growing throw the restorement and regularization of the public politics in Brazil and the goals in education. The problem investigated in this research is to understand if the social movement leaded by parents, students, teachers and workers which began in 1995, for the reconstruction of the school building Antonio Vieira Campos has a relation with the Public School defense, universal and free. Its purpose is to understand the relation between social movement and the public school as well the historical trajectory of this school. It is about to learn the historicity of a micro and local context in its several ways in: (1) the investigation of the theoretical area which analyses the social movement and its categories; (2) of the economic development of Sorocaba municipality in the 90 decade in the last century putting emphasis in the creation of the urban space which shows the context of this research; (3) of the press used as documental source of the historiography cal research; (4) of the interview of the residents and participants of the movement organized in the perspective of the construction of the Antonio Vieira Campos School, to lead in the Sport Court break down and the social movement born among the residents to build it up again. It is considered that the efforts and the organization of those who took part in the school development process located in the Housing Development were really important to make this reconstruction project come true for the school practice.
