| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho trata do período compreendido entre o final do séc. XIX e início do séc. XX, quando a cidade de Itapetininga vivia um momento de grande euforia. Tendo forte representação política nas esferas estadual e federal, conseguia benefícios como a construção da primeira Escola Normal do interior de São Paulo e a extensão dos trilhos da estrada de ferro. Nesse clima, em 1921, é criada uma Escola de Farmácia e de Odontologia que, tendo o apoio político das lideranças locais, consegue o reconhecimento estadual justamente numa epoca em que o governo lederal reclamava para si a legislação sobre o ensino superior. Não obstante o embate político que se estabelecia na Câmara dos Deputados em São Paulo, sobre a competência legislativa do Poder Estadual ou Federal na regulamentação do ensino superior, havia o enfrentamento da Escola de Farmácia e Odontologia de São Paulo, até então hegemônica na emissão de diplomas oficiais dessas áreas. Sua defesa seria feita pelo ataque às escolas do interior que, mantidas pela iniciativa privada, foram paulatinamente acusadas de baixar a qualidade do ensino, facilitar o ingresso aos cursos por candidatos despreparados e de promover um comércio de diplomas. Após o golpe de 30, as escolas reconhecidas por leis estaduais perdem suas regalias sendo-lhes obrigatória a equiparação às congêneres federais. Em Itapetininga, reunidos os acionistas da Escola de Farmácia, resolvem extinguir a sociedade e fundar outra que pudesse atender à legislação federal. Tendo encerrado suas atividades acadêmicas em 1937, a Escola de Farmácia e de Odontologia de Itapetininga causou a impressão, aos olhos da comunidade local, de que tal fato teria sido retaliação de Getúlio Vargas à terra de Júlio Prestes. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This assignment is about the period between the end of the 19 century and the beginning of the 20 century, when the little town of Itapetininga lived such an euphoric moment. Having eminent figures in the state and federal politic scene, it brought benefits to the local population as the First Teachers School out of the capital, São Paulo City, and the railroad extension. In this environment, in 1921, a Pharmacy and Dentistry College is opened and recognized in Itapetininga, thanks to the support of the local political leaderships, even in times of adversity, when the Federal Government claimed to itself the Legislation over the Higher Education. In spite of the political dispute that took place in the Representative Council in São Paulo, concerned to the legislative competence of Federal or State Power over the Higher Education regulation, the Pharmacy and Dentistry College in the capital kept the best reputation on supplying the diplomas in these fields. Its preference would be based and constructed on the fact that, maintained by privates, those country side Schools had lost quality, making easy the entrance of unable students in its courses and also trading diplomas. After the military coup of 1930, schools recognized by state laws, lose their privileges, being obligated to fallow the Federal School patterns. In Itapetininga, during a meeting of the Pharmacy College leaders, they decided to quit the partnership and to found another one able to attend to the federal rules. Ending the academic activities in 1937, the Pharmacy and Dentistry College caused the impression, upon the local community, that such an event could have been a revenge from Getúlio Vargas against Júlio Prestes hometown. | eng |
